Hey everyone!   What a week!!  Buster's surgery went very well on monday!  He is doing great which means his mommy is doing great too!!  Thanks for all the well wishes for my boy.
I have been super busy this week trying to get ready for the big weekend market.  Tues night my friend and I went to a new market in Kalamazoo, Douglass Community Center hosted an evening market for the first time and it was so nice to be a part of it.  Plus the atmoshpere was so laid back and fun and relaxing!  Today was to be Allegan market but with this rain and wind I decided to not go SORRY!! It just isnt good for my things to get wet or damp and sugar melts in water so I would melt too!! ROFL!! right!  So anyways that will leave me more options to take on sat.
I did again forget to take my cam to the kitchen so now I must make a note to self and put my cam in my purse the night before goin.
A few new recipes were tried this week and they all turned out great!!   Caramel apple cake, chocolate cherry pie, banana pineapple bread and a few others.   I will say the caramel apple cake is delish but I think next time I make it I will add more apples to it.  The recipe called for thinly sliced apples on the top of cake and even though it is very pretty hubby suggested to put diced apples in the cake batter too.  I made a homemade caramel sauce to drizzle ontop of cake and oh yummy!!
I also did up a sour cream coffee cake that has some cinnamon streusle swirled thru it and decided it needed something more so did up a butter crumb topping for them and that really did it!!  I also added a bit of a cinnamon glaze to a few of them.  Susan made up chocolate croissants and some little croissant cakes with choc chips on top and a glaze over that.  There is not much bettter to me than starting the day off at thek kitchen with a hot choc croissant fresh out of the oven, crispy dough, melted choc and lots of buttery goodness!! YUMMY!!
So today is gonna be an extra baking day for me, babka dough can be made, bread dough, some hamburger buns, (which I need to remember to cut down from 4 oz to 3 oz)  and lots of cookies!!
Hope yall have a wonderful day and I will be back to share more soon!!    SATURDAY SOUTH HAVEN FARMERS MARKET!!  SOUTH HAVEN MI 8-2

CR84FN card challenge day

OH MY GOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!  I so love these colors together and can see a few project coming this week with them!! So retro kind of feelin!!
and anything and everything with  PINK is just wonderful to me!!  LOL  GREAT COLORS MONA!! and you need to check out the super duper inspiration from the design team for these fabo colors too!!  You will surely want to make something!!

ok so I decided to use my great mothers day stamp set by Papertrey Ink on this one since that holiday is just round the corner.

I adhered some vintage sheet music from an old hymnal I bought onto a chipboard butterfly.   Added some pearls for antannea and also used my pink stickels by TIM HOLTZ!
A scrap of vintage cream ribbon and some ivory daisy flowers makes this challenge complete!

I really like this card.  I also added some pearl beads to match the butterfly on the daisys and used some Chalkbox ink in pink.

And here are my lemon blueberry muffins for an order done!   Using fresh squeezed lemons I added a nice lemony glaze to the tops.  Easy peasy too, just make your glaze, put in a little ziplock baggie, snip one little corner off the bottom and drizzel away!! makes it so easy and decorative!!

It is 75 degrees out and me and the boys been out doin some much needed yard work.  Planted the first of the glad bulbs and raked and cleaned off the deck for the boys to be on and brought out our outdoor set.  My mom and brother and the boys sat and had a relaxing little time sitting in the shade with a nice warm breeze blowing out there.  Cant believe it is so so sooooooooooo nice out!!  So ready for spring!! and I think it is finally here!!  WOO HOO!!!
I am off to ride my pretty pink bike and play outside some more.  Have a wonderfully blessed sunday and be back tomorrow!!

Altered chipboard card

OH MY SPRINGY GOODNESS!! what an absolutely beautiful day today!! 66 degrees and gonna be nicer tomorrow.
My mom and I took our bikes out and rode this afternoon, it has been sooooooooooo long since last fall and we rode so we were due!!
I did make a few more altered chipbaord cards.  Love the orangey rust color on this flower.

And I love the black backround on this card with the pop of red ribbon!

Tourquoise blue flower really matches the dark colors I think.

this is one I made using a white basic plain card and did some lavender blue watercolored effect on it to match the blue flower.
I am goin back outside to take the boys out and play a bit while the sun is still shining on us!!
Have a blessed weekend!
Be back tomorrow!!

Spring banner

HAPPY WED YALL!!
Well it was raining when I let the boys outside and an hour later now it is realllllyyyy snowin!! the ground is all white again!!    I think I heard we may see just a couple of inches today.??  that is ok!!  we had so much rain and melting snow lately we dont need any more rain!!  In fact I will post pics of our road a couple of miles north of us, the southbound lane is completely gone!  there is a creek that runs under it and goes out to the lake well over the years the erosion has been so bad we been wondering when this might hapen and it did now.  I am glad noone got hurt the last time a couple of years ago we had some really bad storms and heavy heavy downpours that the whole road was gone in the middle of the night! 2 people lost their lives while  delivering the morning paper and didnt see or realyze the road was gone.  That was really horrific we felt so bad fo those people and their families.  Very tragic and so sad.   I am thankful this is just one lane and like I said noone was injured!!

I started out cutting out the circles from an old hymnal book and then distressed the edges and also inked the edges with some Tim Holtz's distressing ink in green.

The letters are cut with my cricut from some My Minds Eye green paper, they needed something a bit more so with Tim's green ink I stamped a flowery image over the letter.  It gives nice dimension to it.
Then made little rosettes for the bottom of each one, added a flower and gem and some fibers.    I did distress each of the banner pieces with antiquing medium and also used a mini flourish stamp on the left corner of each one too.
This was made for a friend and is on it's way to her now!

And here is our road situation.

I never tire of looking at this beautiful lake.  Each and every day it changes so much and the colors are so vivd around it.  Not too many icebergs left now so we are nearing spring!!  YEAH!!
So hope yall have a wondeful wed and be safe!!
I did want to take a minute to mention the FENNVILLE BLACKHAWKS boys basketball team and how incredibly proud we are of each and everyone of you guys!  GREAT JOB LAST NIGHT again another win!! WOO HOO!!  Great bunch of guys we have in our town!
GOOD LUCK on friday at another game!!

I'm back with more ornies!

Oh today was a snowy day for sure!!  WE got alot of snow!!  **LET IT SNOW ** LET IT SNOW** LET IT SNOW*** sing it with me!! LOL  LOVIN IT OUTSIDE!
This time of year it just might as well snow!! Sure dont like rain now so this is good!!  I am thinkin if we keep goin this way we are surely gonna have a WHITE CHRISTMAS! YIPPEE!! Christmas in beautiful sw michigan isnt the same without snow!!
So here's a peek at what I did in my spare time today!  LOL at 5 this am!

Using up all stash items in my studio I made more ornies!! These little guys will be perfect on a spindle tree, feather tree or to use as gift tags on presents.

This is a slide mount ( FYI  I have wayyyyy too many of them laying around) so pulled the white cardstock off from the inside frame and added some pretty little holiday scrapbook papers, some pics of snowmen recycled from old xmas cards and tags (which by the way are always dirt cheap after the holidays so I obviously stock up) LOL

Oh and using my wonderful snowflake punch by MARTHA STEWART I added a flake and a bit of my 'farmgirl bling" to each one using her glitter and a little sticky gemstone for sparkle and a bakers twine hanger.  I did splatter paint some white on after they were done for more snow!!

I do think this guy has to be my absolute favo!! but I love the snowman I paint that is reaching up to touch that perfect snowflake in the sky too!

Oh too cute! this was a gift tag I cut the snowman off of.

This was the view out of my truck window this am goin to the shop.  OH SO PRETTY!!

I decorated some old flower boxes around the farmstand with pines and some pinecones and twigs and little candy canes I found.

One of the table arrangements that went out on deliver today

My brother who is handicapped has the herb business and is helping a job coach he has to make these centpieces for a craft show he is in this week.  Him and I searched the thrift stores for unique tins to put them in and a good recycling project too!

Happy holidays ornie.   FYI the ornies are $5.00 each plus travel expenses.  I have sold a few today and will make up more all different ones.

Another microscope slide ornie

Some decoration by the farmstand door.

So that is about all for today I have to make some toffee tonight and get my cookie recipes ready for tomorrow at the kitchen.  Hope yall have a blessed snowy evening and if you are driving out in it BE CAREFUL!  we seen several cars off the roadway and into ditches and into trees today.  I have to bring in a load of wood for the furnace and then it will be time to make some more ornies too.  OF cource one of our favo shows is on tonight BIGGEST LOSER and we watch that if hubby is home in time if not I let it record and we will watch it later tonight, he is workin on our plow truck right now.  Yepper ya know our drive is usually the very last to be plowed out!!   LOL oh well I still love him dearly and would be totally lost without that man in my life!  my boys would miss their daddy too!!
Talk to ya more tomorrow!!
GOOD NIGHT!
hugs
