Busy week

Hey yall!!  I dont have much spare time this week but wanted to share what I did yesterday and sunday.   We have our first week back at market thurs and then it being mothers day week I am helping my mom at her flower shop too.
Here is a card I made to welcome back someone who was on vacation.
I used MY MINDS EYE super great terrific new papers here!! so lovin this line!

We went to my inlaws for dinner on sunday so I made some little sugar cookies with a sweet pea flower on them.

And I love love LOVE trifles so made one up with pineapple for hubby!! he loves pineapple!   I used the juice from the canned pineapple in the cake batter and that was so yummo!  A butter cake which was cut up in bite size pieces, layered in my bowl with some vanilla pudding and whipped cream blended together.

Just layer it all

I topped this with some cut up slices of pineapple, I think toasted coconut and maybe some toasted pecans would be nice with this too, hubby is just not a coconut fan and doesnt like nuts too much either so left them out.   A pina colada trifle would be so gooooooooooood!!!

It looks pretty when layered in a clear bowl.

And heres a close up of the flowers on the card.
Lost and Found is the line and they are awesome designs.
Hope yall have a wonderful tues I am off to get ready to head to the shop.  I have my camera in my purse so will snap a few pics of the flowers today.

**ALLEGAN MARKET THURSDAY there are a few of us that will be there offering some great goods!!***

My Scrap Space challenge

Hey yall!!     So did yall get up early to watch the wedding?   I watched bits and pieces but mainly wanted to see them exchange vows which was lovely.  Kate was a stunning elegant bride~~  I loved seeing the clothes and of coure all those wonderfully elaborate hats!! just femine gorgeousness!!  They make a beautiful couple and seem very very happy!
Now to get to todays friday sketch challenge over at Tammi's My Scrap Space.  Stop on by there it's a fairly new site, she has a great fourm and a store for scrapbookers and is a sweetie.

I used a super page lo kit from The Paper Studio bought at Hobby Lobby the other day for my take on the challenge.  This kit came with the alpha stickers, tags, the dog papers and then a few solid sheets of paper too.  I cut out the tags for Buster then used a corner rounder punch and punched each of the bottom corners.  I cut the hearts out of asst papers in the kit and added a layered flower I cut using a pair of scalloped scissors.  Folded the petals for dimension and used my Fluid Chalk by Colorbox for the edges, same for the edges of the patterend papers.

I am quite happy with the way this lo turned out and will add it to my many lo I have for the "boys".   Dont forget stop on over at Tammi's blog for more inspiration at  http;//myscrapspace.blogspot.com
and visit the forum for more ideas and to make some scrappy friends.
My mom and I are making jam this weekend to get ready for markets next week starting with hot pepper jelly and really hot jelly and some blueberry jalapeno jam.  ALLEGAN market opens on thurs and will be each thurs now thru october from 8-2.  South Haven market opens for me the third sat in may and will be into october on saturdays from 8-2 also and then June thru sept will be Saugatuck's green market (all locally made/grown) on fridays from 8-2~
I will post on my facebook page what I am making each week and my featured item of the week!! Of cource soon it will be asparagus pickin time which also means our pickeled asparagus and my "clucking hot spears" will be ready!!
Have a wonderful weekend!!

TGIF and more vintage scrappin

Hey yall!! WOW oh WOW it is friday already!!   We had our last of the winter markets at Bronson today and it was great! SO happy to be a part of it and will miss everyone but will be back there in december!!
Seems so very far off but with summer markets, baking and farmin may-nov just really flies right on by us!  So I did work on a few more projects this week inbetween bakin.
So here is my niece Carissa.  She is just growin up wayyyyyyyyy too quick!  I love her litle pink vest!    So for her one year pic I decided to do a bit of a vintagey feelin lo.  I used a grey patterend sheet for the backround, added my own touch with the layered chipboard flowers and hearts.

And one more piece of the grey pearl flourish I took apart.    I also used Believe chipboard title out of my pack from K&CO another of my favo companies!!

Here is one I did up for hubby's dad.  Another vintagey feelin one since this is a great black and white pic of him with his bike.  ANDDDDDDDDDDD more of the grey pearls I love so much!!  I also added some layered chipboard hearts and a flower.  I did use a Tim Holtz stamp along the edge of the chipboard in numbers then machine zig zag stitched around the sheet music paper.

I loved the light pink, cream and black color combo I decided to do this one first but wasnt as happy with it as the one above.  I do love the backround page which is another in the Lost and Found series by My Mind's Eye~!~  LOVE LOVE LOVE this set, did I already mention this!! LOL

And I so love the tickets along the top of the sheet music ontop.     So that was the last of the projects and I just want to take a minute to give PRIMA definetly 2 thumbs up for their new pearl line!! I am so so lovin these flourishes and bought more today, I got some white and silver ones and more of the grey I love so much~~ WTG PRIMA!!  and I also love their packaging, I have used the cards they are stuck to on a few projects now so great way to recycle~~

Spring altered sign

I am so sooooooooooo in the mood for spring!!  and all the lovely springtime joys!!  CANT wait!
Here's another springy project I did this week.
The wood sign is actually a dollar store find!!  I took the ribbon off it that was a hanger and replaced it with twine (that primitive gal in me loves twine and with using hay everyday for my horses and goats always have it )

I used this dragonfly stamp to stamp around the edges of the polka dot base.  Love pokadots~
Found an emphemera pkg full of great vintagey inspired things from K & CO at MICHAELS so used some of that on here.  I like the way the birdcage shows up like metal! It is a bronzey metallic looking cage from the pkg.
I cut the leaves from green pp and just sprinkled with a bit of MARTHA STEWARTS glitter.
The letters were on a pkg I bought and put in the stash drawer to use up finally, lol, anyway to give them nice depth I just dry brushed them with some black paint and also edged a bit with antiquing medium.  same with the edges of the sign
And I also did up a set of 3 baby girl cards.    I had a page kit of mother goose things so used some of that on these.
Love using hat pins and the little alpha beads.
A layered altered chipboard flower I cut and painted and stamped and inked the edges.
So that was it for yesterday.  Hubby is doing better from his oral surgery and I am hoping he wakes up feeling good today.  Slept on and off most of yesterday and actually we were in bed right after idol last night.  The boys get so excited we all march off to bed together at night~ they play and ruffhouse a bit then we get comfy and our little family is off to sweet slumber.   Good life!  Wish Bubba dog was here with us but I know he is with us in spirit.  We miss him so.
Still trying to find a little girl for my sweet boy to have a date with and hopefully we have a lead on one not too far away just have to time it right.
Hope yall have a wonderful friday!~!~  I am off to bake for market tomorrow, banana blueberry bread, banana bread, shortbread cookies, multi grain bread, and mabye some of my cinnamon roll bread pudding.
Will talk more and have a few more things to share this weekend!~!~

I'm BACK!!

Wow FINALLY!~!  Our puter caught a virus friday night and poor hubby has been diligently working on it!!  We have alot of protection but gee one got thru.  It was spyware that latched on and kept telling me we needed to purchase a program to delete it, well long story short we are back and hopefully this wont happen again!!  II was sooooooooo lost without my puter!!
Today hubby is having some oral sugery so I will be back this afternoon to start sharing my special projects I have been working on.
I did do up a spring mini banner and also an altered photo frame and some cards along with a spring altered sign so far.
It is pouring here and we have possible flood warnings, my poor pasture is just flooded, it was 50 degrees out yesterday and boy alot of snow melted so that doesnt help with the water situation.
Glenn winter market is saturday so I am goin to make some new recipes I want to try out.
Raspberry walnut brownies (with our homemade red raspberry preserves) some cherry almond oatmeal cookies, and some pierogies on the menu!!  All my recipes!
Hope yall have a beautiful wed!!~
Talk more in a bit!~

So  I am gonna work on some special projects for next week and some more tutorials!!! March 14th it starts and I just love these badges and buttons for them!!  LOVE IT!!
Nothing says welcome spring like birdies!!  Well we do have snow and ice and rain predicted for the weekend but I can hear the birds singing so beautiful out in the early am it means spring is comin................. !!YEAH!!
And I have a small request for all of you great people.   A dear dear friend of mine's granddog had some surgery this am, could you please say a little prayer and some well wishes that everything will be ok for JUNE a very special furry friend!!  Ru and I have shared some very similar events the last month, her daughters precious fur baby passed away the week before our little Bubba and then they found a lump on June's back and with alot of prayers and happy thoughts we are hoping that it is not the c word............. and that the doctors got it all!!    Buster so far is doing better we got his lab results back and the vet says everything looks good and to keep his treatment (addisons disease) the same and we are watching the lump on his thigh very closely!! He is probably gettin sick of mommy checkin in but I just so worried and prayin that it doesnt grow!  Labs are prone to fatty tumors I have been told and hopefully that is all this is!

Vintage Street Market challenge

I joined in a challenge over at Vintage Street Market this month and actually it is their first challenge!!  They give you a list of  ingredients and you make something using those specific ingredients.  This one had to contain a vintage bingo card, some bakers twine, millenary flowers (which are adorable) and their clear plastic snowflakes!!  LOVE the set I bought from them too!! you get 2 small, 1 large and also 2 dangling clear teardrops one large and one small.  SOOOOOOOOo here is what  I made for the challenge.  Since we are still in winter and snow and you had to use the snowflakes I decided to do a new and altered wall hanging.  I cut out a piece of thin wood and added some distressed light blue crackeled paper then some vintage sheet music out of an old recycled hymnal, tore it and distressed the edges to prim perfection!!

Cut out layers of chipboard for the big red flower, painted, stamped, sanded and distressed that then layered it together.

I added some blue gemstones to the centers of the snowflakes to tie in the blues.

Wrapped cappacino colored bakers twine around the bottom of piece then also included a vintage milk bottle stopper and stamped a bit of flourishes around andddddddddddddd

added the saying Wintry blessings using some brown HEIDI GRACE brown rub on letters anddddddddddddddd behind the card I also cut and inked a piece of a round doiley and white mini millenery flowers.   A light blue glass bead hangs below with the clear pendant from Vintage Street Market and it is ready to hang!!   I am pleased with the finished product.  Just the right amount of bling and primitive for this gal!!
My mom and I took my brother shopping yesterday and let me tell you we covered alot of ground in 5 hours.  We spent the majority of the time in Kohls though but saved almost $200.00 on stuff we bought! Love those after xmas sales and discounts they give!! There was a ton of things 60% off and my mom also got a coupon for 30% additional off the total sale!!  WOO HOO!! gotta love that!!
And I bought my boys something special from there that they love! Each one and my mom's dog Axle each got a stuffed animal from their for a toy!!  A cute green bird!!  I will take some pics of it as it is realyyyyyyyyy cute!!

Also we spent quite a bit of time in Michaels and Hobby Lobby buyin up some new yarns.

She made this awesome multi colored scarf!~! I love using different fibers and yarns in them as it really makes them unique and different!!   FOR SALE HERE TOO!!  if interested just email me or check em out on my etsy shop.
This one is done and ready to ship out to ya. Burgandy, steel grey, ecru, brown and a bit of slate blue and black are the colors in this wonderful scarf. She made one for me awhile back and I love it!! IT is warm, so soft and 100% made in the us using only the finest quality yarns. Pure wool, brushed bamboo fibers, alpaca wool and only made in us fibers have been used.

The scarf is 57 in long not including the tassels on ends, and is 8 inches wide. A great lenght to wrap around for extra coverage. MADE IN A SMOKE FREE HOME!!

I am going to do the CR84FN color challenge too and this week I am really excited as it will be used for 2 challenges!!  The colors are absolutely perfect!! red, kraft, and brown!! just in time for valentines day things!!  YEAH!!
I am off to work on a layout from yesterday for the Scrap-Friendzy skethathon and also todays card.   I dont want to get behind as I have markets next week so will be at the kitchen alot.  4 markets next week!!  lots of baking for me!!
Hope yall have a wonderuful family packed sunday!!
