last outdoor market today!

And of cource it is raining!! LOL we have gotten sooooooooo much rain this fall!!  making up for the drought this summer I guess!! but naturally it has to be coming on our market days!!
So this is South Haven's last outdoor market day and then November 3rd we start inside at Foundry Hall for our Winter Market with a great line up of farms/vendors being there!! I will post about that once we start and also give pics!!

So yesterday was a long day baking at the kitchen.  I feel blessed to have a dear sweet friend MARY join us baking! WHEW!! I would probably still be there getting ready for market if it wasnt for her and Susan making things!!

I made up some lavender shortbread cookies

Susan made praline pecan bars *when I took this pic they just came out of the oven still bubbling!*

Mary made this delish batch of chocolate coconut biscotti bites!! oh my goodness I could eat the whole batch!~! SERIOUSLY** love biscotti!!
hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe if we have some left I make buy a few and hide em!! LOL

this is Susan's Aunt Rosalee's crispy molasses cookies that Mary made!! Oh my these guys are pretty and yummy too!!

these little guys baked up so nice!

oh they look so pretty!!

I also made a batch of pumpkin spice bars with cream cheese frosting which are pretty tasty too!!

and then I was so so pleased with this pinterest recipe I just had to make!!  Cinnamon Braid Bread
You roll it up jelly roll style then cut in 1/2  twist the two ends together and fan out the edges and shape into a circle.
(I will find the original post and link it up here, she has awesome step by step directions)  I highly recommend making this bread it is easy peasy!!

So you see these beautiful layers of cinnamony goodness!! oh and buttery too!!=)

They look so darned pretty but we had to cut one up to see if they matched up in taste!!

a little "farmgirl bling" of just powdered sugar and water drizzeled on top.
Ps. they are not only pretty but yes yummy too!!
So a big THANKS TO MARY AND SUSAN!! and a sneak peek, more marshmallows to come next week!!  Mary is making a special seasonal flavor!! WOOHOO!!
Have a blessed weekend I will be back soon!!

We're back from vacation

What a great vacation!!  We were at the South Haven Flywheelers for the 29th annual tractor show last week and had so much fun!! It was a record year in attendance and we sure couldnt have been happier or prouder to be a part of it!~!
The boys had fun with us too and I love that we can have them with us there to share our vacation it just wouldnt be the same without our furry kiddos with!!   Even "Mr Naughty Pants" was pretty well behaved and seemed to enjoy camping out.   We stayed a couple days after the show to help with the cleanup and tidy things up.  Sad to see it over but in a way excited to start on next years show!! It will the the 30th year and they are wanting to do big and new things!!  Got some ideas floating around in my head for that too!

Here are some pics of what my mom and I made for labor day week markets.

Plus we made lots of other things but I ran out of time and forgot to take pics of the rest.
We have alot going on the next couple of days a dear friend of ours wife passed away and my hubby's grandfather has to have another surgery too so we are gonna be busy.   Tonight I am heading to the kitchen to work on things for market on sat.  I have an idea for a crispy chocolatey choc chip cookie and also want to make some cranberry orange shortbread cookies, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread pudding and well maybe that is all I will get done today!  Tomorrow will be a full day too getting things done.
Hope yall have a wonderful day and I will be back soon to share some fall primitives I am working on for my friends shop in Glenn.  She does have a facebook page for the shop so if ya get a chance chick it out!!   Farmhouse Prim Antique is the name, she has great stuff and also has an online catalog too so she will ship things to ya!!

Almost the weekend!!

Goodness it is almost weekend again!! WOW I have said it many times, but really cannot believe how fast time is goin by!!  On monday I feel like I have all the time to get ready for my thurs and sat markets and geeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeee it is gone like ...............that!! gone poof!  Crazy Crazy!!  Today was an absolutely postively one of the most beautful market days (weather wise) just as we were packing up it was getting hot, 94 when I left the parking lot.  I did put the ac back on now this evening it was a bit stuffy in the house and Buster was acting like he was a bit uncomforably warm.  He and my litte Barney boo are laying on the couch next to me!  Bruno and "Mr Naughty Pants" aka Arnold are playing with toys! Oh my I dont think I have introduced yall to our new addition!  "Mr Naughty Pants *LOL* Arnold.  Hubby surprised me a couple of weeks ago with another boston.  This one suppossely "wandered" to his work place and he fell in love!! OK at first I did believe his little story about how this poor little guy was all alone and lost and how he did TRY to find an owner!!  YEAH ok so yall can see where my thinking is now right....... Really we didnt need another dog but he is such a sweetie and has really fit in here in our little family quite nicely.  The boys play play play and "Arnold" is a cuite pie for sure!! He is very attached to hubby and sleeps curled up next to him, on top of him, or on his pillow touching him!  LOL very cute.  So hubby calls him "Boss" but as you already know from above I have another name or two.  LOL   Arnold fits because I have always wanted a pot belly piggy and since growing up watching Green Acres wanted to name him "Arnold" so this litttle guy fits that name quite well.  He does snort thus the name!!  LOL .

This is the newest addition!!  As you can see that yes........is a metal wrench he is hovering over!! He carried that around in his little mouth and then laid on the chair with it.  What a silly goof!  He finds things that I have no clue at all where they come from!  Little scavenger for sure! LOL but a keeper!

And my Buster Brown guarding one of his rawhides!

This is a small mural I am working on at the flywheelers club we belong to. I have one more side then finishing touches to put on the base before the show starts in 2 weeks!! YIKES!! 2 weeks to go!! WOW!

This side is almost done, just gotta finish the addition on the barn and add a few little odds n ends.

A garden and little orchard and some rows of corn

and of cource I HAD to just HAD to put some...............chickens on it!! somewhere!! LOL

piped out mocha cookie dough

My mom was the chocolate dipper!!   These are so yummy I could eat em all!!

Smores mini pies

These were done last week weekend, chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake then topped with cream and sprinkles.

mini apple pies with cinnamon crumb topping

my mom and I planted a few moon flowers this spring and they are soooooo pretty!!

lots of beautiful blooms

This is one of the flowers before it opens, it kind of reminds me of a rose, the center is a lavenderish color and looks like velvet.  So pretty!

peaches ready for going in the cake batter

rustic herbed cheddar biscuit loaf

My mom being the "farmgirl bling" princess glazing the bundt cakes, muffins and dipping all the goodies in chocolate!!  Thanks Mommy I couldnt do this without you! LOVE YA!!
kiss kiss!

lemon glazed lemon muffins

nekked bundt cakes

1/2 glazed it sure adds alot to the cakes
So that's it for now!  I will share more tomorrow or over the weekend with ya!!  I have South Haven Market satuday and I will be taking a bunch of goodies over to my friend's new store in Glenn  Farmhouse Chic Prim Antique!!   She is having a grand opening sat!! 10-6 this saturday!! chic it out!!  like them on facebook too!!  She is a doll and I am so happy to be friends with yet another "craftychick" country gal!!
HUGS til this weekend!!

gnocchi and more

Hey yall!!
Happy Happy monday!! Hope yall are havin a great monday.  This am I took my brother to do his volunteer work at a local food bank.  We had a good turn out of people stopping by, and everyone was super nice and thankful to all of us.  What a great group of caring people!!
Last week my mom and I made alot of goodies for markets.  We did up some potato gnocchi with chunky homemade red pepper/tomato sauce.  These are time consuming but fun to make and taste super yummy!!
I so love using fresh herbs in things well.....everything!!  They add so much flavor and really any combo of herbs is good.

blueberry banana bread loaves

canned fresh peaches

Oh and look at the bottom shelf!!  My newest favo combo!!  pistachio red raspberry muffins with pieces of toasted pistachios on top  SUPER YUMMY AND good!!

another of my all time favo combos!! Peach n basil.   The basil just brings so much more peach flavor out it is amazing!!  I just made a simple brown sugar oat n butter crumb topping.

There they are all baked up!!

this was our spinach n eggplant parmesan.  Actually it became out supper that night!
LOL too tired to cook when I got home from the kitchen.  One word of advise.............peel eggplant!! I used very tender young eggplants, roasted them in olive oil and salt n pepper first then layered them in the pans with sauce and fresh spinach.  Well after being told you dont have to peel them I will always peel them! they were very bitter and tart... chickens liked it!
LOL

this was my zucchini parmesan sauce and herbs on bottom then layered sliced zucchinis and chopped tomatoes and sauteed onions n squash.

and fresh basil on top!! with montery jack and cheddar and parmesan cheeses

finished peach basil for market.  Had to add just a touch of a "farmgirl bling" sliced toasted almonds and a large basil leaf.
My mom goes in for kidney abdominal tests so hoping all things go well, we went out to lunch today and then had to go shopping for some groceries.    Spaghetti and fresh sauteed green/purple/yellow beans (fresh from our garden) for supper tonight.
Tomorrow will be a full baking day, I have a little party to cater this week and then markets.
Another busy week ahead of us, and another hot one for us.  it was back in the 90s and hot n humid!!
Will be back soon to share more things!  I am anxious to work on fall prims especially my punkin head scarecrows and punkins!!
Have a blessed evening!!
HUGS YALL!!
