halloween cookies

Hey yall!!  What another nice day in our beautiful state!!  It was in the 70s, cloudy and rainy on and off but otherwise very nice outside.  I am having to skip market tomorrow as I am still little miss sickly here.    Going back to doctor tomorrow so should get something this time to kick this infection to the roadside!!  Been up so much at night coughing and my throat is so sore it is quite miserable.  this is crazy for this time of year.
This weeekend is also the Blue Coast Aritst tour and fall festival weekend.  I made some cookies for a friend of mine to give out at the tour.  She has Khemuno studio in Glenn and does the most amazing raku fired pottery pieces.
I thought it would be fun to do up some cutesy halloween sugar cookies for her this year.   Ghosts, punkins and witches hats so far.

I added a little black star to each witch hat

Boo ghosts

and I made up the batter for chocolate chip cream filled chocolate cookie pies.    I also made up some more sugar cookie dough to make some special sugar cookies!! Cant wait to do them up!!
Also made up some gingerbread shortbread, lavender shortbread, and some of my espresso cookie pies!!

Took some pics going down our little road

the trees are so pretty right now!!

in front of my parents house
Will take more pics when more leaves change color.
So pretty pretty pretty outside!!  Love the fall!!
Have a great night!!

pumpkin cookies

Well today was a wet and chilly day outside.   It rained from the time I got up this am and is still raining tonight.  We really did need some rain it was quite dry out.  Next week looks like we should have a few pretty nice fall days so Buster and I can take our golf cart with a trailer and head thru the woods gatheting kindling for the wood furnace.  We have fun doin that and I usually have at least 3 big piles of sticks.

Remember my little nekked punkin cookies from friday??  Here they are all dressed for fall.

I just made a quick butter cream frosting and piped on a couple of little curly vines on each.

This is a pic of a blurry pic but it is the top of my pumpkin cake roll.

These are fun to make and taste sooooooooooo yummy!! this was ours at home.   Hubby and I love pumpkin goodies.  This week for markets will be all about pumpkins!!!
My grandma Rose's spiced pumpkin pie bread, pumpkin pie cake, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin muffins with maybe a cinnamon butter streusle topping, pumpkin mini pies and pumpkin bread pudding (which by the way is my most favo of my bread puddings) comes with a creamy cinnamon sauce.
I also have some fresh apples we picked so I am thinking maybe maple apple bread pudding, apple bars and some caramel apples.  Fun fun fun!
I should do some apple butter and pumpkin butter but not sure I will have time.  I have orders for pierogi and cookies for the weekend. Blue Coast Artists fall tour is this weekend and I want to make some special desserts for our farmstand.

Hope yall have a restful evening.  I am off to watch the season premier of one of my favo shows.............. Desperate Housewives!!  love that show and have watched reruns of old episodes on lifetime several tims over!! LOL
Talk soon!!

Fall baking

I brought out the cookie press the other day and decided to make some fun fall cookies

These almond butter ribbons were good but especially good dipped in chocolate and sprinlked with a bit of fall jimmies.

Some streusel topped apple muffins.   I always cut up asst apples when baking with them  sautee just a few minutes in butter and cinnamon then  add  to the ingredients.
Cranberry orange muffins super yummo!  And I added a lemon glaze for my "farmgirl bling"~~

Here are the pumpkin cranberry muffins with their touch of "farmgirl bling"!!
Here are the butter ribbon cookies dressed for fall!

I added some orange food paste coloring to the shortbread dough for the pumpkin spice cookies.
