Spring banner

HAPPY WED YALL!!
Well it was raining when I let the boys outside and an hour later now it is realllllyyyy snowin!! the ground is all white again!!    I think I heard we may see just a couple of inches today.??  that is ok!!  we had so much rain and melting snow lately we dont need any more rain!!  In fact I will post pics of our road a couple of miles north of us, the southbound lane is completely gone!  there is a creek that runs under it and goes out to the lake well over the years the erosion has been so bad we been wondering when this might hapen and it did now.  I am glad noone got hurt the last time a couple of years ago we had some really bad storms and heavy heavy downpours that the whole road was gone in the middle of the night! 2 people lost their lives while  delivering the morning paper and didnt see or realyze the road was gone.  That was really horrific we felt so bad fo those people and their families.  Very tragic and so sad.   I am thankful this is just one lane and like I said noone was injured!!

I started out cutting out the circles from an old hymnal book and then distressed the edges and also inked the edges with some Tim Holtz's distressing ink in green.

The letters are cut with my cricut from some My Minds Eye green paper, they needed something a bit more so with Tim's green ink I stamped a flowery image over the letter.  It gives nice dimension to it.
Then made little rosettes for the bottom of each one, added a flower and gem and some fibers.    I did distress each of the banner pieces with antiquing medium and also used a mini flourish stamp on the left corner of each one too.
This was made for a friend and is on it's way to her now!

And here is our road situation.

I never tire of looking at this beautiful lake.  Each and every day it changes so much and the colors are so vivd around it.  Not too many icebergs left now so we are nearing spring!!  YEAH!!
So hope yall have a wondeful wed and be safe!!
I did want to take a minute to mention the FENNVILLE BLACKHAWKS boys basketball team and how incredibly proud we are of each and everyone of you guys!  GREAT JOB LAST NIGHT again another win!! WOO HOO!!  Great bunch of guys we have in our town!
GOOD LUCK on friday at another game!!

I'm BACK!!

Wow FINALLY!~!  Our puter caught a virus friday night and poor hubby has been diligently working on it!!  We have alot of protection but gee one got thru.  It was spyware that latched on and kept telling me we needed to purchase a program to delete it, well long story short we are back and hopefully this wont happen again!!  II was sooooooooo lost without my puter!!
Today hubby is having some oral sugery so I will be back this afternoon to start sharing my special projects I have been working on.
I did do up a spring mini banner and also an altered photo frame and some cards along with a spring altered sign so far.
It is pouring here and we have possible flood warnings, my poor pasture is just flooded, it was 50 degrees out yesterday and boy alot of snow melted so that doesnt help with the water situation.
Glenn winter market is saturday so I am goin to make some new recipes I want to try out.
Raspberry walnut brownies (with our homemade red raspberry preserves) some cherry almond oatmeal cookies, and some pierogies on the menu!!  All my recipes!
Hope yall have a beautiful wed!!~
Talk more in a bit!~

CR84FN challenge card

Over at CR84FN the colors this week are just great!! teal, green and yellow!!   Such wonderful spring colors and since it was in the 50s here today that was perfect inspiration for me to be a bit creative!!

My card for the challenge is Sing your song!!  A great bird stamp was used which I love since it has words around it, dream, believe and joy!  LOVE IT!!

So yellow is the gingham paper and the ribbon, for green I used a great piece of textured BAZILL cardstock for the backround and green gems on the bottom, teal is the floral printed MY MINDS EYE paper!! LOVE LOVE LOVE MME papers!!

Had to also add a bit more green which is the back largest flower, then I dry brush painted the vintage sheet music flower layers and added an old recycled button for the center.
FUN COLORS for sure!!

And since Bronson market is tomorrow I had to make some cookies!! these are just wonderful!!  I used a basic butter spritz cookie recipe then added fresh squeezed orange juice and orange zest to the batter in place of vanilla.  OH my orangeygoodness!! these are soft and with their little bums dipped in chocolate they are yummo!!  Had to do a bit of my "farmgirl bling" yall know that !! LOL, added some melted choc drizzeled ontop.

AND 2 batches of my sinfully decadent loaded chocolate walnut brownies!~ Complete with cream cheese  filling!~!

These are super duper super moist with chocolate pudding in the mix and melted milk and dark chocolate too!!

And got a batch of my grandma Rose's slovenian stuffed kolachky!!  She used to make these with all kinds of fillings, I remember her making her own mixed nut filling by chopping the nuts very finely, usually pecans, walnuts and also some almonds then cooked them in honey and sorghum until it thickened enough for the filling~~~  YUMMY yummy for your tummy I tell ya!!   So it was a nice reminscenting feeling while making these.  I filled them with some of our homemade apricot preserves.

Instead of using the diamond shaped cutter she always always used I used a flower cutter and just folded them in 1/2.

And the bling here is the generous dusting of powdered sugar!!  Oh love powdered sugar on top!! so pretty!! and dainty looking!!
So that was my day!!  Now I have to print labels and package them up!!  I also took some of my baguette bread loaves I had left from last week and chopped them up then brushed each with evoo and topped with italian seasonings and baked them til they were nice and brown and cripsy!! makes excellent bread crumbs for cooking or I am gonna bag em up for croutons!  Also cut up a few of my french breads and added them chopped and baked til crisp.
It was nice to concentrate on other things and focus on something other than gloom and sadness.  My heart aches for our Bubba dog and my husband is hurting quite a bit but we take things one day at a time and am hoping to find that special little girlie girl for my Mr Boopie Woopie Boo to have a date with!!  LOL he's ready!! Maybe we need to just go and get a girl and raise pups here!! Now I know what yall are thinking........... is she crazy???? she wouldnt want to sell any of them!!  LOL I love that breed and would have so much fun with 8 or so puppies runnin around our home!!  The more the merrier we say!!
So I really hope yall have a blessed evening!!!
Talk soon!!

Sorry to be MIA, we are putting our little family back together after loosing Bubba.  Hubby and I talk about this terrrible experience together alot and have made a couple of decisions.  One definetly we are seeking another vet neither one of us feel comfortable or for that matter trust them anymore.  Especially since I made a couple of phone calls there afterward to maybe try to understand the reasoning and why they did what they did but the vets would not return my calls!! HOWEVER now that I called and requested our other dogs files to be transfered or copied so I can get started somewhere else they are not wanting to release them to us!! Funny how they called us to tell us that but last week couldnt call and discuss the issuses with us!!!  It is just a shame but I am making it a point to tell peole around here and funny thing is the more people I talk to the more BAD comments I hear and not one person has said they will go there again as they have either had a similar incident or went somewhere else and got the needed help and things worked out!!!  I just cant understand this place and their thinking!!  I know Bubba will live in our hearts forever and with Barney being his real brother we will always have a bit of him to carry on the bloodline!! which I am searching for a little date for him!!  He has lots of experience with all of his stuffed animals if you know what I am saying!!  LOL  At least the fog we have been surrounded by these days is lifting and things are becoming a bit better in this home.  Buster and Barney have helped their mommy and daddy emensly and I sure couldnt go thru this without them or Bryan!!  Love ya babe!!

OK on to something a bit more bright!!!   WE had a great day at the flower shop for valentines day.   Heres a few pics I snapped in the morning before we opened.  IT was fun to see our regular customers and met alot of new ones too!!
This is a very special sweet customer/friend of mine with her precious little girl all decked out in her valentines dress and bling filled collar!!  she is a cute pie and comes to visit us at market each week!!  I sure needed that on sat! THANKS SUE!!

My valentines necklace I made for me to wear on monday.

Love changing my jewelry and being able to make things just for me!! LOL

The front cooler.

this is our back extra cooler we use for holidays.

A glass bubble bowl filled with reds and white flowers

It isnt much but I just love adding hearts into arrangements for Valentines.  We have been making these for years using just a plain ol pipe cleaner!!  Bend it to a heart and tape it on a pick !

We sell alot of stuffed animals with flowers and these little guys are perfect for balloon weights.

And the little bud hugging animals are always a hit!

double "sweetheart" bears with some cookies

And this guy was my favo!! He is just darling.  the box opens up to place a little sweet something in?? Maybe a ring or a bracelet or candy, we filled it with kisses for someone!  TOO CUTE!!

and bud vases ready to go out.

Love red and white in a basket but then again I love the red white and pinks together for this day also!!
