HAPPY EASTER

Wishing you and your families a very very BLESSED EASTER SUNDAY!
Well we had quite a day yesterday, kind of an ambush!! I went outside to take my chickens some bread and for some reason no one was around, I didnt hear or see anyone.   I walked in the pen and found feathers everywhere!!  in the back big pen there I found the remains of 7 of my poor sweet chickens!! 4 roosters and 3 hens all dead!!  The only culprit that kills and leaves em is a weasel!!  they are just relentless little creeps!! 2 were missing their heads so that is a sure fire clue to this killing.  And one of the roosters was my little Charlie!! he followed me around the farm and has his little heirem of girls with him all the time!!  DANG vermin out there!!~ So we closed everyone in the coop and they will have to stay inside for a couple of days now since this dang killer will surely keep coming back.  That is so disheartening to find.
Saturday was our towns prom so thru and fri I helped my mom at her shop make coursages and bouts.  I have to say we had the NICEST bunch of kids this year!! so friendly and happy and polite too!!

Here are some pics of some of the corsages we made.   This year I came up with an idea for them, we had girls say they want something really small and tiny so made some bracelet type ones.

This is a pretty alstromeria and daisy long corsage.

A bracelet one made of pink tea roses

This is the bout and matching corsage with purple accents.

I really liked this one she wanted small and bracelet kind with purple and black tipped baby breath and a bit of black ribbon.

Love the all white ones.  Tea roses, baby's breath, white caspia and some ferns wtih white ribbon tails hanging down.

One wanted red roses tipped with silver so here they are prettier than I was thinking it would turn out but the white alstromeria really blends well since it has red specks in the petals.

My batteries died after this and I forgot to put a couple more in my camera case so that was all I could take.   We have some planting to get done today and work in the greenhouse and also in the chicken coop.  The sun is out and they changed the forcast to just a small percent chance of rain!! yeah!! since we have rain pretty much everday this week predicted.  Almost asparagus pickin time!! oh cant wait!! I have to pickled alot more since we were out very early in the season last year.  We do plain pickeled and cluckin hot -n-spicy ones too.
so off to work!!  hope yall have a wonderful day!!
Talk more tomorrow!!

Prom time

Wrist corsages for sale.  This black one has some tiny black silk flowers and sheer black ribbon along with a touch of black glittery tule.  7  1/2in longWhite roses with pink flower accents and sheer pink bow and ribbon.  8 in long.
Since prom is right around the corner I thought I would start making some corsages.  These are all silk ones, my mom brother and I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and bought the prettiest flowers!!  As yall know I love my "farmgirl bling" so added some pretty little pearl strands and some glittery ribbons.  The pink and white one actually was an experiment using the pink little flowers I made from paper, chalked the edges for more dimension and really this turned out kind of cool  Also found some great glittery tule we had at the shop.   We usually have someone come in the shop askin for silk so figured since it will last and stay nice we will offer some.  These are all on silver elastic wristlets.  If anyone would like to order a set of corsage and matching boutinerre please convo with me I can do that and ship asap.  I did put a couple in my etsy shoppe to.  I can also make one up to be a pin on instead.  I cant wait to see everyone's dresses there are so many different kinds.  This may date me a bit but my prom dress and most everyones in high school were full southen belle ones.  My junior prom dress was very light blue with lots of details and my senior dress (my favo) was white of cource floor lenght with a hoop under!! LOL can u imagine!! I loved that dress it was a v neck with pearls and sequins and long sleeve and of cource it was a summer satin, I love summer satin and my wedding dress was it also.  Oh too fun I will have to dig up ol prom pics!! My dresses are still in my closet in my old bedroom at my mom and dads house bet my pics are there too!!  In fact I also have all my senior pics in a box there, I had some pics taken with my collie "Laddie" and my chevy nova my daddy built for me!!  Oh the memories if that car could have talked!! LOL
Hope yall have a blessed Sunday and I will be back to share more with yall soon!!

Productive wed!!

Here are a few pieces of scraps I had laying around, an old bannister piece, some wire coat hangers (hubby gets em with his uniforms and I refuse to let them be among the good plastic ones in the closet so we have tons) and a piece of pine board. PUT EM ALL TOGETHER AND WHAT DO YOU GET YOU MIGHT ASK????? A new holder to hang my pendants on for at the shop!! What do yall think?? I think it turned out very cool and once I get the for sale ones hanging on it i will take another pic!!

Just sanded the wood, cleaned it up and painted the whole thing white with some black drybrushed on for depth. Hubby wants to put some kind of finial on the very top to hide all the holes for the ends of the wire hangers so guess its not quite done yet!!

I did work in my studio this am a bit and made this layout for a dear friend. I am gonna frame it for her as a surprise. It is a pic of her new grandbaby! ISNT he too stinkin cute!!

WOW what a BEEEEEEEEEEATUIFUL day outside!! It is almost noon and already 65degrees here!! YEAH!! YIPPEE!! My mom and I made up these sample wrist corsages last week since 2 local proms are this sat thought we better get some made up for them to see. I love the red mini carnations and white alstromeria together and that one is what they have been ordering.

This one is just white alstromeria and a few light pink mini carnations along with some caspia filler and some bling!@! glass beads!! Gotta have the BLING!! They all get a shot of some glitter spray before leaving the shop too.

This is one that I used some older white mini carnations on (that is why they dont look too good plus sittin in the cooler since last week) with a bit of blue ribbons and baby breath. I am so happy since it is callin to be near 80 degrees this weekend!! YEAH!! so glad they will have nice weather for this special and memorable occassion!!! Keeping fingers crossed it does stay that way too!! Well that is about all I got for right now so I am off to sit on the deck outside with my boys and read thru a few scrappin books!!
HAVE A HAPPY HAPPY THURSDAY!!
