A vintagey lo and me

I decided to stay home today and play in my studio!!  Dont ya just love when u get something new like a new tool or stickers or die cutting machine or well patterend papers!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE papers!! and I know I have said this before but love My Minds Eye!!  Love them!!  So with that said I just wast chompin at the bit to work with the new papers I bought.   In fact I can hear some more calling my name so on my way home from market friday there justttttttttttttttttt happppppppppppppens to be a hobby lobby right on my way no goin out of the way or even gettin off the main road just make a right turn and opppppppppss there they are!! LOLI made the flowers using some great patterend papers and adhered the base one to some chipboard and cut them out.  Added distressing along the edges and bent the petals up and down.

together is the name of this vintagey lo.  I am not quite sure who the couple is but it was in my grandmothers old photos I had.  It says miami fla at the beach handwritten on the back.  Not sure of the year either.

And here we are again with the pearl flourish!! the last of the pieces I cut apart.  gonna get more of them too!

I machine stitched along the vintage sheet music in a zig zag pattern but you really cant see that at all on the pic.

And I had to do a lo of me, something to show my style and had to have a few ingredients in it.  Stitching on the page, I stitched the muslin tag to the gingham paper,  My favo Tim Holtz stamp!!  so that had to be on the page, those favo pearl flourishes I love so much, they are sooooooo me!!

Flowers, flowers and hearts!!  Love making layered altered distressed flowers!  again SO ME!! and that pic of me and my sweet Buster Brown.

Yall know PINK is a favo color of mine so this had to have lots of it on the page.  I layered my pic with a few different pink papers, notice too if you can my sweater is light pink~!~LOL  of cource, and there are some great pink gems here and there!

So now I am off to work outside since the sun is shinin and it has warmed up to 45 oustide.  I think that might be wrong it feels warmer than that.  But I want to plant some rainbow swiss chard and cilantro in pots in the greenhouse.  It is like 90 in there!! LOVE IT!  love gettin in the dirt!  maybe that is why I distress and age just about everything!! dirty lookin!! LOL
so have a wonderful wonderful tues!!
talke to ya more soon!!

An altered organizer day

I have to say yesterday was just a wonderfully perfect day!! It was my birthday and  started out with my sweet mom and brother taking me out for breakfast, then came home and putzed around the house and did a few things in my little studio and then took the "boys" for a walk and then a ride bye bye, hubby came home after work and we watched tv and had supper and played outside with the "boys".  What a perfect day!!
Our little Bruno is so well fitted for our family he is a blessing from above that is for sure.

A friend was talkin bout using foam core board and it reminded me of pins I made using it last year.   This one i made using foam core as the base, it is nice an lightweight and easily cut with an exacto knife.  I adhered the cut out fairy ontop of some sheet music paper, then stamped some flourishes on it and added those beautiful wings.  Using my JUST RITE stamps I stamped the words believe and dream on it.  The sides I just painted with some metallic silver paint, added a few layers of triple thick glaze and a pin back and that was it.  easy peasy!

Had to put a pic of my favo flower on today, Sunflowers have been a long time favo of mine and with all these dark, grey glooomy days I wanted something a bit bright to look at!! they just make ya smile and think of long sunny summer days laying in the grass looking up in the blue sky and watching the clouds lazily roll by.  OH cant wait for summer!!

Ok I posted the start of this book awhile ago and finally finished all the embellishements on it.  It is used for my orders for markets.  I MUST be organized this year!!  Once market season opens and the farm is in full swing things get crazy and busy and I get .................gulp..................yes a bit absent minded! well maybe just a bit forgetful sounds better ????  Anyway I figured I needed something fun to help me be more ontop of things this year.

Each page has the day of the week on the end tab and inside there is a pocket that I have paperclipped papers to, to write the requested item in.

Using lots of emphemera and my altered chipboard and ribbons and bakers twine this will be perfect.

I just love the blue frame around this bunch of forget me not flowers.    Lots of stamping and altering was done to make this.  And I had this old vintagey label in my stash Miss Muffets fine teas and cakes!  Fit rather perfect for my bakery organizer.

Even though I am a primitive kind of distressed gal I love pinks and browns together.   Love my flourish stamps and these were stamped with TIM HOLTZ distressing inks.  I dry brushed almost every detail with black paint for my prim look.

Ticket stubs, hearts, postage stamps, words, and well just about any and everything is in here.

This is what I started out with.  Just some pretty folders from a local dollar store.     I cut each one in 1/2 and I think you get 3-4 in a pkg.  They had a couple of different ones but since I am a pink fan this was best for me.

So now run out to your nearest dollar store and make one for yourself.   I am finding a bit of organizing doesnt hurt at all!! LOL I must admit I have good intentions and start the year off with high hopes of letting that organizing part of me show but it does get pushed to the wayside so hopefully this will help me out!!
I am off to start baking for market so hope yall have a wonderful glorious wed. and I will be back soon!!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Another photo frame done

I did this photo frame/sign  today for a 25th wedding anniversary.   But first here are my precious boys next to me on the couch.  Buster Brown loves his down filled blankie!!  He will lay like this for a couple of hours.

Now he is layin in my recliner with one of Bubba's favo quilt blankies I got for him.

And here's the baby!!  LOL My Mr. Boopie Woopie Boo!!

Little stinker!!  I got him that striped bear and he drags that thing all over, we take it with when we go bye bye too, and of cource he drags it to bed with us at night too.  It is bigger than him and I usually have to help him get up in the bed with it!!  LOL oh my babies!!  Just love em so!!
On to the sign I did,  Two hearts that beat as one is on the altered chipboard heart.   I cut out the vine and added some light pink flowers with a dab of TIM HOLTZ Stickles in the middle.

I did one large layered flower on the bottom left corner.   I started out with a large sheet music paper rosette, then instead of leaving it whole I cut in between all the petals then added an old hymnal page flower, with the same pink glitter stickles on the edges, an aqua colored flower and then pink polka dotted flower then another small hymnal flower and topping the stack off is a recycled button with some light green bakers twine as a bow.

So here is the finished sign.

And I also made a Mothers Day card.

I had to play with the little bug today "my cricut" so cut out the scalloped tag and used it as the center of the card.  Love love love that paper.

I used my PAPER TREY INK mothers day stamp set on this.    "Words can never express how much I appreciate you" is the verse on the bottom.
Not too much else done today,  I had to repaint 2 of the wine glasses I am painting for a friend as they werent quite up to par.   I dont think I care much for painting on glass!!  This has been quite an experience!!
So I hope yall have a great night.  Tomorrow is baking day so will be playin in the flour and sugar and cream.   I am thinkin of maybe makin some Irish Soda bread, some olive bread, and lemon buttermilk cakes and maybe some of my Grandma Rose's pumpkin pie spice bread.
Ok have a blessed evening and thanks for visitin!!

Altered wreath and the "boys"

So every year I try to come up with a homemade gift personalyzed for our family to give my mother in law. This year I took an ordinary grapevine wreath and altered a bunch of wooden ovals and circles i cut out of some thin wood. After printing a bunch of xmas day pics out I added some great MY MINDS EYE christmas glittery paper. The paper is from the holiday glitter pack I bought at HOBBY LOBBY, also I used my MARTHA STEWART snowflake punch to add some glittered flakes using some of her white holiday glitter flakes.

Each circles paper is cut with decorative edge scissors and the edges are of cource distressed with TIM HOLTZ distressing inks. (LOVE ALL HIS INKS BTW) they are added on using some E6000 adhesive. My mil loved it! even hubby said it turned out pretty cool!!

So here is my little Mr. Boopie Woopie Boo with some of their wrapped presents. He is starting to get the hang of opening them but Buster and Bubba are pros now!!

Here's a pic of our cookie case at the shop.

Some of my dip mixes and candies and jellies at the shop

These little finnish almond squares are actually quite easy and super yummo!!

My dear friend Susan made these mini pastries up and they are absolutely too pretty to eat!! but they are yummy too!! Love the little marzipan holly on those cookies.

I made these orange spice rounds and of cource they needed that "farmgirl" bling to them so sprinkled each with confection sugar, then dipped 1/2 of the cookie in white chocolate and then colored some of that same white choc red and green to add the little decor in the middle.

Another pic of the cookie case at the shop on xmas eve.

Buster getting ready for presents!!

OH and there is one of their favo toys!! the loofa dogs!! they are too stinkin cute but didnt last too long as you can see by the way he is ripping the hat off this guy.

So it was a glorious holiday with family and friends and my "boys". I do hope yall had a wonderful weekend and please remember all our men and women serving our country and fighting to keep peace in our land!! I pray for each and everyone one of them and the Good Lord above watch and keep them all safe.
"Lord let there be love in our hearts, harmony in our homes, and peace in our land."
Hope you enjoyed the pics and I am taking this coming week to play with some new recipes and get ready to go back to market in Jan. Have a great day!!

Playin around Sunday

PAPER CLAY IS FUN TO PLAY WITH!!

LOVIN THIS BIRD I MADE~

A big cheery sunday hello!!!

Well I FINALLY played around with some paperclay today!! now I bought this pkg 2 years ago with the hopes of making something, put it in a drawer in my studio!! (i know big mistake when things are hidden away and out of sight we tend to forget about them) so while siftin thru some things I came across it and thought hmmmmmmmm wonder if it is still good. WELL it is really fun to use!! This is everything I cut out for the moment to see how they end up after painting. This stuff is just drying but I love the look. THE BIRD turned out just too cute cant wait to paint him up!!!! Maybe blue with a bit of red? It was fun to sit and play with this stuff, I also stamped a few words on the long pieces that I am goin to paint up and seal and hopefully make them into neckalces, the bracket is goin ontop of an altered journal book i am working on for a friend maybe the flowers too. The word love turned out so cool they are stamped on then I went over the letters with an embossing tool to make them a bit deeper and stand out more.

THEN I finished up a banner for the flower shop!! OK I AM NOT usually using such bright bold colors you know i am a true prim grubby kind of gal but we wanted something for in a big window at the shop that would STAND out!! well i think my mom and i picked out the perfect colors for this flower banner!~ I think it will look great as the shop outside is light grey too. I made all the accordian flowers on the bottoms and added some ribbons, a bit of distressing using Tim Holtz black distressing ink, and some great lime green crepe paper I found in a card/party store!! I ran it under my sewing machine to make it gather then cut the edges with some decorative scissors, I THINK IT SCREAMS BRIGHT AND BOLD!! LOL
Ok so I am off to finish up a couple of swap gifts for a dear friend Marla!! and hopefully will get all my paper clay things painted up.
HAVE A BLESSED SATURDAY YALL!!
