Sketch lo 8

HAPPY HAPPY MONDAY!!
According to the forcast we are gonna get a few inches maybe on wed but not much before then.  That's ok though as it has been really really cold this am it was only 16 and now it's a whoppin 27 out.   So this am I  worked on number 8 sketch for our sketchathon over at scrap-friendzy.  This really has been fun and challenging to make a lo using someone else's sketch.  I love a challenge!!

The black and white photos didnt need much other than I matted them with some great black paper with old vintagey handwritting on and a solid black cardstock back.   I love how the flowers turned out, layers of vintagey sheet music paper by THE PAPER STUDIO at Hobby Lobby and then distressed the edges and added a bit of bling with at light pink gem.

a few words cut from another piece of The Paper Studio patterened paper and some more bling to the top.

17 is the title of this page.  This pretty gal is Brandi my stepdaughter, so hard to believe that little freckled face kid is almost graduated from high school!!  GOODNESS where do the years go!!  Hubby cant believe it either.
This by the way is her graduation pic.  I love the splash of pink in her flower and have always been drawn to black and whites.

I really have to get busy today and get sketch 10 done which was posted this am.  It should be a busy week as I have things to get ready for markets next week and there are 4 next week!!  So can do up my dry ingredients and some mixes to get ahead of the game and the pierogi well they can be in freezer for a week so they really should be done this week.  A new on is on the menu will post about after we try and sample to see if they are sellable!!  LOL.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments and emails about my card from the CR84FN8 color challenge.  I cant wait to do next weeks!! I actually think that will be a good thing for me as I dont usually do color ones so add that to my challenges I am lovin!
Hope yall have a great monday and I will talk more later!!

Oh and I posted on fb but wasnt sure if I did here yet but it sure was a sad day we lost our oldest rooster the other night!! RED FRED!! he actually had been in several customers pics as since he was such a sweet thing people would ask to have their pic taken holding him!  I did baby him a bit as he was up in age and the younger roosters picked on him so I would bring him over whereever I was working outside and he would talk to me in his rooster jibber (yes I got to know it and could chit chat back to him) LOL, and just stay near me and when I called him he came running like a dog would!!  Oh my dear sweet Red Fred rest in peace my friend!!!

Here's my pretty boy, he was an auracana rooster and when the sun would shine down on him his neck and back feathers loooked like they had gold in them and his beautiful dark green tail feathers just glistened, and thank goodness back in the day was quite busy as we have several offspring of his!   He was 13-14? years old and that is really old for a rooster!!  He actually is kind of famous a dear customer came here one day and took pics of him for a childrens book she was writing and wanted to include Red Fred in it!!  Gotta find that book now!!

sketch lo #6

IT IS SNOWING really good out now!! LOVE IT!   So I had a bit of time early early this am to work on the lo for the jan sketchathon over at scrapfrienzy.  There is so much creativity and inspiration over there yall really should visit if you havent already.  Yall know my need for prim/altering things!! so when I seen the sketch posted this am I knew exactly what pics to use and what I was gonna do with it!!  So lovin this sketch and my lo turned out perfect!!  This by the way is Carissa at  her 6 month picture taking day.  She is growin up so dang fast and is such a little ham too.  Good thing for that...........means Auntie Darlene has lots of pics to scrap with and make art!!

the 6 mo is from Heidi Swapps chipboard cutouts.  but the rest of the embellishing I cut out from chipboard and grungeboard and painted them then stamped them with the Stampabilities love stamp and distressed them with Tim Holtz distressing ink in walnut, and just lightly sanded a bit.

As you know I use alot of the alpha beads from Hobby Lobby and decided to add a pearl hat pin with the word baby on it to the ribbon.  The little gem stones were stick on one from Michaels.  And the paper is from The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby stores!!
So far this is my favo sketch and my favo page that I have done!!

Close up of my layering of my altered flowers.  Lovin that I can add my primitive side to my scrapbooking!!!!
So hope yall have a great day I will share more tomorrow, I am goin to stop at Hobby Lobby on my way home from market tomorrow!! I know it is right along the way I dont have to get off the main road so that right there is just easy peasy and I printed my 40% off an item coupon so no reason not to go!! LOL
Have a blessed thursday yall!!!

baking and scrappin

Hey yall!!  Well I did another scrap challenge if you want in on the month of sketches challenge visit http://www.scrapfriendzy.com/   they have awesome layouts and are a great bunch of girlfriendz!!!!
Here's one I did up of Barney sleeping on Busters bed with some of his favo stuffed animals around him.  I think I might need a new memory card as my pics are kind of blurry or need to just change settings.  We havent had sun outside so I am stuck takin some pics inside.  Anyway I used some chipboard letters, painted and sanded them, cut out bones, and stamped some pawprints on brown cardstock, inked the edges with Tim Holtz distressing inks and added popdots behind them for dimension.

A layout of Jax.  I used K&CO cut outs from a baby boy pack, these are from Michaels and let me tell you I bought 2 of each baby boy and baby girl ones, you get ALOT of cutouts, words, and misc emphemera in each pkg. Definetly worth the money for them!!

A close up of one of my Wendy Vecchio inspired flowers on a project.

A birdie I cut out of plain chipboard and stamped, inked and sanded it then added it on a card front.

Another flower.  Love the blue after inking and and distressing.  STAMPABILITIES paris post mark stamp used all over it.

Who doesnt love polka dots!!~LOL
So along with this scrappy stuff I did manage to make some of my peanut butter whoppie pies, choc chip cookies, cheddar pepper bread, pistachio bread, some pecan struesel filled coffee cakes,  and My mil Sally's pineapple goo cakes done for markets oh and a treat for the chickens~~ a zucchini cheddar biscuit that I am really not sure at all what happened!!!>??? but they ended up a chix treat because they were horrible!! I mean horrible!! goodness I wish I knew what the heck I did because they just were yuk!!  but the "girls" loved em and ate em right up   (  of cource not mentioning the fact they they eat bugs!!LOL)   they still loved my biscuit mistake!
For supper I ended up making my friend Dave from Young Earth Farm's cottage bacon and my version of a tater pancake.  Hubby loves loves LOVES these!   I just make extra filling for my tater-cheese-n-onion peirogies and take a handful mixed with flour and just fry it up in a pan with just a touch of butter until nice and dark golden.   He could eat that everyday, they are good I just dont want them as often as he does so I just make em for him.  I like just a plain ol baked tater with a bit of butter and some fresh snipped chives.  Goodness!! my Buster is sleeping on the couch next to me right now and snoring so loud!!!  worse than hubby does!!  Too cute!!
Well I am off to finish labeling some products and by the time I am done with that it will be chore time.
So hope yall have a happy happy thurs!!
